This is an OUTSTANDING Store if you are looking for Japanese, Hawaiian or a Variety of Asian Foods and Products. This is the only store in North County that offers a Wide Variety of Fresh and Frozen Products. We have been coming to this local Oceanside Store for years and the New Owners have definitely increased the amount of products being sold. LOVE THIS STORE! Everyone is very friendly and helpful. The nice thing is that they did not have the Rice Crackers or Drinks that I usually drove down to Nijiya for. I asked the owner about them, 1 week later they were on the shelf. You will not be disappointed in the store. Why go to a Chain Store when you can support a Local Business and Family!!
This place is a BLAST! Super well organized and quality products. It's very clean and not overwhelming at all. We were shopping for ingredients for spicy tuna, miso, and a dessert and everything we needed was easy to find and inexpensive. The staff is helpful and understanding- I am gluten free and they were able to guide me a bit when we were choosing things. It's so well organized and they have a ton of diversity in their products. I got side tracked and had so much fun looking at the candy! Clean, friendly, and great products! I would be happy to come back here again and shop more- I feel like this is a place that I can trust to deliver quality at a reasonable price.
I went here because I was looking for some good matcha to make at home which I was successful in finding. They had a good variety of snacks and groceries and the worker was friendly.
So happy to have a Japanese grocer in North County that carries a lot of the staples, sauces, vegetables, snacks, candies, arare, etc. that we love and don't want to have all the way down to drive to Kearney Mesa to get. The owners are amazing and personable and Kyoto continues to grow. They also have fresh BBQ cooking on the grill on the weekend that I will definitely come back to taste. Very reasonably priced, especially for a small grocery. I will tell all my friends to shop here so we can support small, local businesses. They're continuing to grow and carry new things so check it out!
This place is a GEM! Outgoing Family serviced! Fresh Bluefin Poke bowls are a definite weekly buy! Bbq is ready at 12, made by dad! On Fri/Sat and Sunday! Many snack and food options inside!
YOU WILL NOT FIND ANOTHER SPOT LIKE THIS!! I lived on Kauai for YEARS AND YEARS and no place around here is like this. The Food, Service from the two owners is unreal. They create the best ambiance for a small but so packed and detailed store! Make sure to stop by on Fridays to get their unreal home style Hawaiian/Japanese style food! Sushis fresh and good every time and not overpriced
Kinpira! Frozen lotus root! Nishiki rice! Hotel red bean bread! Lipovitan! Black sesame ice cream! Shrimp chips! Daifuku and the ingredients to make my own! Kyoto is small but literally has a bit of everything and sure beats a drive to Balboa.... There is enough here to sustain my pantry and fridge desires between my trips to LA. This store is off the beaten path; I actually drove past it while making a wrong turn to Firearms Unknown and circled back after my visit there. It exceeded my expectations! The clerk who helped me was super polite and shared in my enthusiasm while helping me checkout. Overall, this is a wonderful store and I hope to try the sushi someday. I love this little Japanese market because they have quality items and excellent prices! Every time I come in here, I always get service with a smile, and they always ask me if I want some chopsticks or forks. I really appreciate that because sometimes I forget. I usually come here for lunch because they have sushi on Fridays.
